Terms & Conditions

for Pig sales

We sell livestock. You are purchasing livestock. Owning livestock is hard.

We take the commitment to our animals very seriously. Through injuries, illness, snow, hail, heat waves, wildfires, flooding, birthdays, Christmas—the animals are fed, watered, checked and treated. We expect the very same of our customers, our 6E family.

All deposits are NON-refundable, as such please take careful consideration of that commitment before you send a deposit. Here is a short list of why others have wanted refunds in the past—

Global pandemic, illness, car accidents, cancer diagnosis, surgery, broken bones, closing businesses, childbirth, pregnancy, death of family or friend, drought, flood, fire, freeze, kids in college, car repairs, eviction, divorce, upset spouse (for buying too many animals), being fired, wanting to move, unable to find transport or affordable transport.

All of the above can happen to you an hour after placing a deposit, so it can also happen an hour after you get them home, or a year into your farm life.  Regardless of when calamity strikes, you have to have plans to contend with it.

Once a reservation is placed—  YOU OWN LIVESTOCK  —plan accordingly.

We look forward to working with you and teaching you about livestock—it is our passion after all.

D. Animal Health:

    1. SELLER makes no other warranties, express or implied, including the warranties of fitness, health, height, show quality, production, growth rate, genetic quality,  etc.

    2. SELLER does not offer any health or wellness guarantees after the animal has left 6E Farmstead since SELLER cannot control the management and care of said animal(s) once it leaves our farm except the conditions stated in the 6E Farmstead Health & Breeding Guarantee for registered pigs only. SELLER is not responsible for the quality of care on transport. Click here to view health and & breeding guarantee.

    3. BUYER has had the option to review the condition and health of the animal BEFORE the animal leaves 6E Farmstead and by removing the animal from 6E Farmstead via self or transport, BUYER agrees the animal is of acceptable health and condition.

    4. Recognize that purchasing live animals is risky. We do our best to lower the risk for our customers by providing a health guarantee however animals die unexpectedly sometimes. Transporting animals, whether through a transport company, airline, or your own vehicle is stressful for the animal. Shipping fever is a real thing and happens. Pneumonia from a new climate is a real possibility. It is the BUYER’S responsibility to be prepared for such illnesses, know how to recognize them and have appropriate medication and veterinary care on hand before bringing new livestock home.

E. Additional Costs Associated with Transport:

  1. Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI): If your state requires a CVI for importation of your pigs, we will schedule a CVI with our veterinarian. You as the buyer are responsible for the cost and mileage of the CVI. These fees are to be paid directly to 6E Farmstead at time of deposit. The CVI fees are as follows:

  • $180 for the first animal on the CVI, farm call, and mileage and $20 for each additional animal on the same CVI

  • If your state requires blood work, there is an additional charge of $60 for the first animal in the test batch and $20 for each additional pig in the same test batch

  1. Mileage to meet transport: We will meet ground transport within 1 hour of our farm for free.

  2. Flights out of Sacramento International Airport: Add $150 for a new airline-approved crate and mileage (per crate, a crate can hold 50 pounds of animal weight, approx. two 8-week old piglets)
